Shirley Young, Founder and Chairperson of the Board
Ms. Young was astounded that over 1.1 billion people did not have access to safe drinking water. She founded SafvE in 2012. Ms. Young holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in Chemical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from MIT, and a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. Ms. Young also received Executive Business Management from Tuck Business School of Dartmouth College.

Lance McNally is owner of Harbor Falls, Inc. specializing in providing technical services in IP Litigation, Patent Drafting, and Patent Portfolio Analysis/Development for 5 years. Lance has over 25 years of extensive R&D experience with networking and telecommunication companies. At Nortel he was responsible for the hardware, software and ASIC development of broadband access, routers and VPN gateway products as well as the development of advanced network processors across Nortel product lines. Prior to Nortel, at Zenith Data Systems, Lance was responsible for the development of symmetrical Intel based servers. He has also been responsible for Private Branch Exchange and X.25 packet switch development at Honeywell as well as serving in engineering roles at Texas Instruments and Mostek Semiconductor. Lance has served as a corporate representative for numerous standards activities. He holds ten patents. Lance has a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Dallas. Trey Kellett is a co-founder and the Managing Director of Offset Capital Group. Previously, he held roles of increasing responsibility during six years with GE’s energy venture capital platform, most recently as Senior Director. Trey was responsible for deploying $40MM in 10 startup companies in renewable energy, energy efficiency and oil & gas, achieving a 25%+ IRR to date. Trey holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and BA degrees in Chemistry and Environmental Studies from Dartmouth College.

Roger Nassar, PhD Volunteer Technical Advisor
Dr. Roger Nassar is a chemist with academic and industry experience in small molecule and polymer synthesis, microelectronics and biotechnology. Following a Ph.D. and Post-doctoral training in inorganic, organic, organometallic and fluorine chemistry, he applied his scientific skills to the discovery and development of novel photo-lithographic materials, optimization and scale-up of fluoro-surfactant production and surface modifications for microfluidic devices, and to the conception of novel techniques in fluid disinfection. These diverse assets in chemistry and its applications combined with customer support and product development have served well to the success of Roger’s projects.
Alexander M. Klibanov, PhD Technical Advisor
Prof. Klibanov holds a Master of Science in Chemistry and a PhD in Chemical Enzymology from Moscow University in Russia. After two years of postdoctoral research at the University of California at San Diego, he joined MIT as Assistant Professor of Applied Biochemistry in 1979.
